I believe in karma. What goes around comes around. What goes up must come down. I have experienced karma many times in my life. I have also seen the effects it has had on other people and their lives. Karma is a very powerful thing, and I have learned many things from it. I live my life knowing and believing that what I do now will come back to me in the future. Whether it is good or bad, I believe in karma.
The belief in karma originates in the religion of Hinduism. Karma refers to all the actions of a person's life that affect his or her fate. Perhaps the most tangible way to explain karma is that each action, thought, or feeling creates an energy exchange or imprint. Within karma, negative energy will attract negative energy, and positive energy will attract positive energy. Some may believe that karma, negative or positive, may only affect one's self, but the truth is, that each person's energy field is interconnected with all of the person's around them. I believe that we can sometimes see the results of Karma immediately. For example, we may say something negative to someone else, and they feel provoked and respond with their own negative comment to us. Other times karma is more difficult to recognize. For example, someone may walk up to you and, out of no where, say something mean to you. You don't respond, and you don't see the karma in this. As you think about it however, you remember doing the same thing to someone else a few weeks before. Karma. In my own life, I experience karma all the time by being aware. An extraordinary example of karma in my life took several years to play out and for me to understand. A while back, my parents decided to split up. My dad moved out, and over the years my relationship with him decayed into hatred. He tried to take our home from my family, he wasn't paying child support, and we were going to loose everything that we had. The only thing that he couldn't take away from us was each other. My sisters and I focused on doing well in school, while my mom was working as hard as she could to save our life, as we knew it, from disappearing. It was really hard on our family, but we knew we couldn't give up. One day we discovered that all of our hard work and consistency had paid off. My mom came home from work and told us that we had hit lotto for $250,000. We were able to pay off all of our debt and keep our house with this money. I believe that we were blessed with this money, because we knew that there was a reason for what was happening to us. We focused on the good in our life, like having a family to support us, instead of going through it alone. We never focused on what was unfair in our lives. This is a big reason for my belief in karma.
I believe that everything happens for a reason. I believe in karma, and because of this, I believe that life is fair. I know things will get better when they are hard. Karma gives me hope. This I believe.
